Japan, Vietnam deepen defence ties

SINGAPORE - Japanese Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera and Vietnamese Defence Minister Gen Phung Quang Thanh agreed Sunday to strengthen defence cooperation amid alarm in both countries over China's maritime assertiveness in the East and South China seas.
