5.4-magnitude earthquake hits northwest Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (AFP) - A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck northwest Pakistan early Friday, injuring at least five people and causing minor damage, officials and seismologists said. The quake hit 37 kilometres (23 miles) north-northeast of the city of Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, at a depth of 28.9 kilometres, the US Geological Survey said.
