Probe panel recommends stripping Thaksin of police rank

THE Royal Thai Police is inching closer to stripping former premier Thaksin Shinawatra of his rank of police lieutenant colonel after a high-powered committee yesterday confirmed it had already forwarded that recommendation to the national police chief.
