SHORTLY AFTER THE COUP, 11 key sectors were listed in the interim charter for reform, and the National Reform Council designated to come up with recommendations for the task. After almost one year in office, the NRC has been on a rugged road and is racing to finish its work on time before delivering what will be one of the most comprehensive reform plans the country has ever had. The question now is this: Will the reforms recommended by the NRC materialise given the current political environment and when? The Nation talked to NRC chairman Thienchay Kiranandana about lessons learned in the reform process.
